Atlas the Dog needs a home
Atlas is a sponsorship dog because he is undergoing training right now to help him overcome some fear of people he experiences from past trauma in his life. Training takes time and patience, and he has come a long way, but while he is going through training he is also in our care which requires resources. If you cannot adopt Atlas, then Would you consider being his sponsor?
Atlas is a snuggler and face licker. This 2 1/2 yr old duchshund mix with beautiful markings, loves to play with toys, and romp around the house with his foster sisters who are the same small size. He loves to settle down with his person by their feet, on their lap or under blankets by their side.
Atlas is slow to warm up to people. He has done well in one person foster homes. He is learning that people are friendly but needs to make overtures on his terms. Atlas loves to go for walks, spending time sniffing around, chasing squirrels up trees, and on the alert for other dogs to bark and lunge at.
Atlas is house broken and crate trained. He has learned sit and stay for treats. More training for him is necessary so he responds less fearfully to people and dogs.
Atlas is neutered, up to date on vaccines, has been microchipped, dewormed, and is on monthly flea and heartworm meds. His adoption fee includes a free first vet visit certificate to keep him on this healthy track!
